The Screwtape Letters
Lent 2024
This Lent will be a unique experience at Hamblen Church. We will be looking at themes from C.S. Lewis’ The Screwtape Letters. This will include sermons, worship experiences, small group offerings, and a weekly devotional. Of course, you may also choose to follow along in the book. It isn’t necessary to read the book, but it will enhance the experience if you choose to do so. You can download copies of the book and devotional by clicking on the images below.
About The Book: The Screwtape Letters
The Screwtape Letters is considered by many to be a Christian classic. It’s a deeply theological book but written in a very unique way--a collection of fictional letters between two demons. That means that you won’t believe a word of it! We can think of it as “backward learning.” While the demon called Wormwood reads letters to teach him how to draw a Christian away from Christ, we learn how to grow closer to Christ and live a more functional Christian life. Even when Lewis uses humor, you will come away with profound insights into your spiritual life.
