Last winter on the Mission Trip to Guatemala, participants met with women who had started a sewing project. The project, sponsored by the Presbyterian Church in Guatemala, gives women new skills, fellowship and the ability to earn money. Mary Mattie was especially touched and has decided to return again this winter and hold sewing classes. She would love it if a few sewers joined her so more women can be trained. The sewing is basic and you do not have to know Spanish. Tentative dates are March 9 – 18 which gives time to shop for fabric and do some sightseeing. If you are interested, please contact Mary  at or at 509-998- 9646. Many of you have purchased items Mary brought back from Guatemala or has sewn from Guatemala fabric. More items will be available at the Advent Fair with all proceeds benefitting this sewing project. It will enable fabric and sewing machines to be purchased.
