About Us
Mission Statement
Hamblen Park Presbyterian Church is
committed to be a warm,
caring, sharing community of faith, welcoming all people wherever they
are in
their relationship to Christ, and helping them to grow in that
relationship. In
response to the grace
of Christ, who died for our sins and rose to give us new and
everlasting life,
we:
Worship.
Seeking through prayer, music, and hearing of God’s
Word to glorify God and celebrate our new life in Christ.
Witness. Reaching
out to our growing community in order that
people who are not a part of a Christian family of faith may find one
in our
church.
Study. Equipping
all ages in their knowledge, experience,
and application of faith in Christ.
Serve. Sharing
the compassion and peace of Christ in our
community and around the world
More About the PC(USA)
The Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.),
with denominational offices in Louisville, Kentucky, has approximately
2.3 million members, more than 10,000 congregations, and 14,000
ordained and active ministers.
Presbyterians trace their history
to the 16th century and the Protestant Reformation. Our heritage, and
much of what we believe, began with John Calvin (1509-1564), whose
writings crystallized much of the Reformed thinking that came before
him.
